Why we’re here
We’re a team of engineers that have been building large scale and high availability cloud services for consumer security cameras for the last few years.
Ironically, despite investing lots of man-hours and mental energy into creating systems that can process and store massive amounts of data, less than 5% of it was actually viewed by the end-user.
It turns out that the amount of footage that our security cameras generate is simply just too much for us to monitor alone. The result of this is that surveillance footage is almost always only reviewed hours or days after a realisation that an incident has happened. This is unfortunate.
Our belief is that this problem can be solved with the correct blend of artificial and human intelligence. Currently all the other AI image recognition APIs are focused on scenic and portrait photography. While these services may be good at determining that a photo contains happy people posing in front of the Eiffel Tower, they would provide little value when used to analyse real-time security footage.
Therefore we’ve taken it upon ourselves to analyse the world’s security footage to produce actionable insights in real-time.
